Sky Sports host David Prutton has predicted a narrow victory for West Brom when they take on Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium this weekend.

Fifth-place Albion have drawn back-to-back matches since club action resumed and are now eight games without defeat.

Stoke are 23 points worse off than the Baggies in 18th, but they have eased their relegation worries with a win and a draw in their last two games.

Sharing his prediction for the match on the Sky Sports Championship Predictions podcast [4 April, 21m 33s], Prutton said: "1-0 West Brom".

The sides played out a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns in the reverse fixture four months ago as Lynden Gooch's opener was cancelled out by Brandon Thomas-Asante.

Albion are now unbeaten in three Championship meetings with Stoke, having won the other two games in that run 2-1 and 2-0 in April 2023 and November 2022 respectively.

However, they did get knocked out of the EFL Cup by the Potters earlier this season in a 2-1 loss.

Overall, Albion have won 51, lost 65 and drawn 38 of their encounters with Stoke, dating back to the very first meeting in 1888.

This latest encounter will be a tough test now that Stoke have turned their form around. Should Albion extend their unbeaten run - even if that means drawing a third game in a row - they will be one step closer to the play-offs.
