West Brom: Jed Wallace reacts to ‘disappointing’ 2-2 draw v Stoke City
Jed Wallace has admitted that the 2-2 draw against Stoke City was “disappointing” after they were leading by two goals at one stage, he told the official West Brom website.
The Baggies travelled to face the Potters knowing they had come back from 2-0 down against Watford last time out (1 April).
This time around Carlos Corberan’s side found themselves 2-0 up on 57 minutes thanks to Mikey Johnston and Wallace.
In the final half an hour the home side got themselves back level and condemned West Brom to yet another draw.
To be leading by two goals and not come away with all three points was of great frustration to skipper, Wallace who spoke to WBA.co.uk after the game.
On that, he said: “The feeling after that one is frustration and disappointment. We know how good we are defensively. I think we’ve always been a team that if we score first, we fancy ourselves to go on and win the game.
“It’s sort of the tale of the Championship. Last home game, we fought back from 2-0 down to earn a point, but today, they did.”
How did West Brom perform against Stoke City?
Although the Baggies did have a solid enough lead throughout the game, they were second best for large spells of the 90 minutes.
According to FotMob, the Potters had 57% possession while completing nearly double the number of passes with 434 compared to West Brom’s 288.
It must be said that Corberan’s side only managed nine shots but did register three big chances throughout the game.

They took advantage of two of these and accrued an xG of 1.35, although Stoke did manage to register 2.20 of their own.
There were still many positive performances from various Albion players, especially the three behind Brandon Thomas-Asante.
Grady Diangana grabbed an assist while Wallace and Johnston also got their names on the scoresheet on the day.
The Baggies captain was annoyed to have thrown away a two-goal lead but given his 100% conversion rate and 100% tackle success, he was all action and positive.
