West Brom v Sunderland: David Prutton predicts scoreline of Championship clash for Sky Sports
David Prutton has predicted West Brom will come out on top when they host Sunderland in the Championship this weekend.
The Baggies returned to winning ways after a run of three successive draws with a 2-0 victory over Rotherham United on Wednesday (10 April).
Sunderland are next up at The Hawthorns on Saturday (13 April), fresh on the back of a good display in a goalless draw at Leeds United.
Predicting the result of the game for Sky Sports [11 April, 21m 56s], Prutton said: “Forever fit, West Brom. They’ll beat Sunderland at home 2-0.”
West Brom v Sunderland head-to-head record
The Baggies have won seven of their past nine home league games with Sunderland, although they did lose this corresponding fixture 2-1 last season.
The Black Cats were also 2-1 winners when the sides met at the Stadium of Light in December, meaning they can complete a league double against Albion for the first time since 2006-07.

Albion will ultimately head into the game as favourites, though, as they are 19 points better off than this weekend’s opponents in the Championship standings.
The Baggies have drawn plenty of games of late, while Sunderland have drawn three of their past five games 0-0 – including each of the past two – so the win is by no means a gimme.
Not many more points are needed to secure a top-six finish, and this is certainly a game Carlos Corberan will be targeting all three from.
In other West Brom news, Don Goodman believes Albion will have to go down a similar route to Nottingham Forest if they are promoted to the Premier League.
