Leicester City v West Brom: Jamie Vardy one of three doubtful in ‘significant’ blow
Enzo Maresca has revealed that Leicester City trio Jamie Vardy, Ricardo Pereira and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are all doubtful to face West Brom.
West Brom make the trip to the King Power Stadium on Saturday lunchtime (20 April) in an important game for the two promotion-chasing sides.
Vardy sustained a knock in the loss to Plymouth Argyle last weekend, while Pereira is fatigued and Dewsbury-Hall is suffering from illness.
Maresca confirmed at his pre-match press conference on Friday (19 April), as per the club’s official X account, that all three are “doubts”.
When asked about the importance of those three players, Maresca said: “Very significant. For Jamie and Ricky, it’s more a physical problem.
“Kiernan has been just unwell. We have still 24 hours. We’ll see if we can have them back.”
Maresca was also asked at his press conference what he makes of Albion this season.
“We know they are very intense off the ball,” he said. “They have played all season with a line of four. Their structure doesn’t modify the way they work off the ball.”

All three of those players would have played a part against Albion – and still may – so their absence would be a big blow for the home side.
Dewsbury-Hall in particular has been very good this season so, from a selfish point of view, hopefully he does not recover from the illness in time.
Albion will definitely be without one of their regulars, as Brandon Thomas-Asante was sent off in the loss to Sunderland last weekend.

Daryl Dike remains a long-term absentee and Jayson Molumby is another on the sidelines as the Baggies aim to return back to winning ways.
This has been a very good season as far as West Brom are concerned, but they cannot afford to take their foot off the gas now.
This is hardly an ideal fixture when looking to get back on track, but three points at Leicester would be the ideal way to rebuild some momentum.
