Grady Diangana ‘ridiculous’ as ex-West Brom star loses mind over former teammate
Grady Diangana has been lauded as “ridiculous” by former teammate Kean Bryan after his performance for West Brom in their goalless draw with Southampton.
The Baggies and Saints played out a hotly-contested 0-0 draw in the first-leg of their playoff semi-final on Sunday 12 May, with the DR Congo international turning in a fine performance in attack.
And while watching the game, former defender Bryan took to his personal X account (12 May) to praise Diangana.
“Grady one of the best I’ve played with,” he wrote, followed by a fire emoji. “Ridiculous.”
Grady is one of the best at West Brom, playoff hopes on him
When Diangana joined the club from West Ham back in 2019 on an initial loan, he was seen as one of the brightest prospects at the Hammers.
Bringing him into The Hawthorns was seen as a coup but he struggled in recent years to really get going despite always showing flashes and glimpses of his quality.
However, since the arrival of Carlos Corberan at the club he has been able to find his most consistent form and he is one of the best players in the team, who other players are looking towards when they need inspiration.
It shows his quality and talent that former teammates like Bryan hold him in such high regard, and it’s no surprise that many fans are putting their playoff hopes on his shoulders too.
He has the skill, the quality and the creativity to make things happen on a whim and after a draw at home in the first-leg of the semi-final they will need him at his best at St Mary’s and potentially Wembley if they want to get back to the Premier League this season.
In other West Brom news, the club want to sign one midfielder who has failed to agree a new contract elsewhere.
