West Brom confirm contract updates for Cedric Kipre, Kyle Bartley and Alex Mowatt

Cedric Kipre, Kyle Bartley and Alex Mowatt have all been offered new contracts at The Hawthorns, as confirmed on the official West Brom website.

The announcement on 22 May details the club’s retained and released list, with a number of out-of-contract stars departing The Hawthorns.

Those include Matt Phillips, Adam Reach, Nathaniel Chalobah, Erik Pieters, Yann M’Vila and Martin Kelly, while the loan deals of Mikey Johnston, Andreas Weimann, Callum Marshall and Pipa will all officially end on 30 June.

West Brom have kept hold of key players

West Brom fans will be pleased to hear that a trio of key players will not be allowed to simply walk away from the club for nothing this summer.

Kipre and Mowatt, in particular, have been indispensable for Carlos Corberan. In fact, they rank among the top four Baggies players for minutes played across all competitions this season, behind only goalkeeper Alex Palmer and right-back Darnell Furlong.

Bartley, too, has been a regular fixture alongside Kipre at the heart of defence, playing over 3,000 minutes in all competitions, and the 33-year-old’s experience will prove useful as the Baggies make a renewed promotion push next season.

Of the senior departures, none played more than 2,000 minutes in all competitions and have clearly not convinced Corberan that they are necessary pieces of the puzzle as he looks to take the side to the next level in 2024/25.

In other West Brom news, an Albion player is wanted by a League One side in a permanent deal.
