West Brom fans should worry about Carlos Corberan exit amid Leicester City news – Sky Sports journalist
Dan Bardell believes West Brom should be concerned about Carlos Corberan’s future should Enzo Maresca leave Leicester City to join Chelsea this summer.
It has been reported by BBC Sport (27 May) that the Blues could raid the Foxes for the Italian as they continue a search for a new manager.
Should he make the move to the capital from the East Midlands, the newly promoted side will need to move quickly and make an appointment.
A report from talkSPORT writer Jason Bourne on X (27 May) has suggested that the Baggies boss would be on the list of candidates for the job.
Sky Sports journalist Bardell has praised Corberan for his work at The Hawthorns but does believe he could be enticed by a Premier League move.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Bardell said: “It could be massive. I think West Brom would have gone the same way as Birmingham City without Corberan’s impact.
“Sometimes you make an appointment which gets the club trending in the right direction and I don’t think they would have been without him. I think he’s been absolutely huge for them.
“He’s one of the most talented managers in the Championship and he probably does want to challenge himself at Premier League level.
“Unfortunately for West Brom, I think if Maresca leaves Leicester it is a likely avenue for him to go down. If I was a West Brom fan I’d probably be quite concerned.“
Would Carlos Corberan leave West Brom?
Corberan has had such a great effect on the Baggies since coming in to replace Steve Bruce in October 2022.
Since coming in, everything has been more positive and that culminated in reaching the play-offs this season. It was frustrating however to lose to Southampton the way they did.
It must be said that promotion may have come too soon this campaign and rebuilding this summer towards another play-off run next season could be a better option.
This could all be scuppered if Corberan departs for Leicester this summer as he may prove to be difficult to replace.

He is well-loved at the club and may feel like sticking around for another campaign to try and achieve promotion with the Baggies.
A move to Leicester in the Premier League will be beneficial for him and his career, which fans couldn’t truly begrudge.
It would be a sad loss but let’s wait and see what happens this summer.
