Burnley admire West Brom boss Carlos Corberan as Vincent Kompany replacement

West Brom manager Carlos Corberan is admired at Burnley as they look to replace Vincent Kompany as manager, according to The Athletic.

Writing on their website (29 May), the news outlet report that the newly-relegated Championship outfit have a number of managers on their shortlist after Kompany swapped Turf Moor for Bayern Munich.

Corberan is admired alongside Scott Parker, Marti Cifuentes, Mark Robins and Liam Rosenior while other options are being considered too as they narrow down their options.

West Brom must keep Carlos Corberan at all costs

With the managerial merry-go-round now firmly in play, the Baggies are largely at risk of losing their boss because of just how good he is.

Since his arrival at The Hawthorns, the Spaniard has seen his reputation rise despite not being able to secure promotion to the top flight because of the circumstances that he has had to deal with both on and off the pitch.

Leicester are set to lose Enzo Maresca to Chelsea and Corberan has also been linked with a move there, and it would obviously be difficult for him to turn down a job in the Premier League.

But with Shilen Patel now in charge at West Brom this is arguably the best chance that Corberan will have of achieving promotion with the club, as he earns power in the transfer market and with his squad too.

It won’t be easy regardless, but the Championship looks considerably weaker this year than it did last, and Corberan’s qualities as a manager mean Patel should do everything he can do to keep the Spaniard at The Hawthorns.
