Compensation fee emerges for Leicester City to hire West Brom manager Carlos Corberan
Leicester City will have to pay West Brom between £3.5million and £4million in compensation if they appoint Carlos Corberan, according to John Percy.
The Telegraph journalist reported on Monday (3 June) that the Baggies boss remains a leading candidate to succeed Enzo Maresca at the King Power Stadium after he was named as Chelsea manager.
Such a large fee could act as a deterrent for the Championship champions because of their own financial situation, but Corberan is understood to fit the mould of what they’re looking for in a new head coach.
Leicester are planning to undertake a thorough recruitment process but their main goal will be to appoint a new manager before the end of June and ahead of the start of pre-season training.

The links between Leicester and Corberan just don’t seem to be going away and now that Maresca has been confirmed as Chelsea’s new head coach, you would have to imagine that speculation will only heat up in the coming days.
As Percy reports, the Baggies boss seems like the perfect fit for the Foxes as he has plenty of expressive experience in the English game, particularly when working with a smaller budget either at The Hawthorns or as Huddersfield manager.
While Leicester’s financial woes could make it difficult for them to foot the potential £4million compensation fee, their hopes of finding that sort of money may have been helped by the compensation they have received for Maresca.
You would imagine Shilen Patel, like most West Brom fans, will be desperate to not lose Corberan this summer. But if a Premier League side comes knocking with almost £4million on offer, it could be hard for both Albion and their boss to turn down that opportunity.
