West Brom defender Cedric Kipre is keen on a move to Trabzonspor this summer as he stalls on the club's new contract offer, according to Taka Gazete.

The Turkish newspaper posted via their website [5 June] that Kipre is open to leaving The Hawthorns for the Super Lig, with Trabzonspor coach Abdullah Avci reportedly "determined" to sign the central defender for his physical attributes.

Kipre was a standout performer in Carlos Corberan's Baggies side that reached the Championship play-off semi-finals, and scored at Southampton with what could be his final touch of a ball for the club.

With a new contract offer not yet agreed, Kipre could move to the Europa League outfit on a free transfer with Avci also targeting Atletico Madrid's Stefan Savic [Mundo Deportivo, 1 June] in a bid to rebuild his defence.

Cedric Kipre exit would be huge blow for West Brom

Life without Kipre for West Brom seems a daunting prospect given the Ivorian's form throughout 2023-24.

Defensive partner Kyle Bartley is also out of contract and has not yet agreed new terms, alongside experienced midfielder Alex Mowatt in the same boat.

Darnell Furlong has also been heavily linked away for a fee of as little as £2m, whilst loanees have returned such as Mikey Johnston, who proved impactful at The Hawthorns.

It represents a huge rebuilding job for Carlos Corberan, who himself could be tempted by a Premier League move if Leicester City come calling on the Spaniard to replace Enzo Maresca.

As a 27-year-old full international available for free, it's no doubt Kipre is garnering concrete interest and could be seeking a new challenge if he doesn't see promotion as a viable opportunity for the Baggies next year, with Trabzonspor qualifying for the Europa League as Turkiye's third-placed team.

West Brom may even have to up their initial offer to Kipre's camp.
