Brandon Thomas-Asante still faces high injury risk at West Brom – Doctor
West Brom striker Brandon Thomas-Asante will need to be monitored carefully in pre-season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has reacted to Carlos Corberan’s comments about the 25-year-old’s fitness back in May when he faced issues with his hamstring.

Due to this, despite him playing 81 and 26 minutes in the two playoff games against Southampton, injury expert Dr Brar – who is a physical therapy specialist and sports scientist – has told West Brom News that he still faces a higher risk of re-injury.
“In May, the manager confirmed that he was facing issues with his hamstring which put his availability in serious doubt,” Dr Brar said.
“Based on the comments, it was a nerve issue rather than a muscular one and it wasn’t serious so that’s good news.
“However, it could also be a scenario of him playing through the pain barrier and things could get aggravated in the off-season.
“The key to mitigating the risk of re-injury is continuing to be methodical when he returns to pre-season as he’ll be among the ones with a higher injury risk.“
West Brom must find an upgrade on Brandon-Thomas Asante
Thomas-Asante is on the back of a campaign in which he scored 11 goals in 41 league appearances for the Baggies.
He led the line for Corberan’s side and put in underwhelming displays despite being the club’s main goal-scoring threat.
If the Baggies are to secure promotion and perform better next season, the 25-year-old may not be the man to bank on to get their goals.

While the striker can be a decent option off the bench for the club, he’s not done enough to justify why he deserves to start week in and week out.
