Carlos Corberan will be thrilled by Okay Yokuşlu development away from West Brom
Carlos Corberan and West Brom supporters would have been delighted to see Okay Yokuşlu get some minutes for Türkiye.
The Hawthorns fan-favourite will be flying the flag for the Baggies at the 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany.
As a result of his impressive form with West Brom this season, Yokuşlu was selected to be a part of Türkiye’s final 26-man squad.
And it became apparent on Monday (10 June) that the midfielder is in Vincenzo Montella’s thinking ahead of the tournament getting underway.
Türkiye took on Poland in their final warm-up match ahead of the Euros, losing 2-1 in Warsaw.
While the match did end in defeat for his nation, Yokuşlu would have felt delighted at full-time after being introduced in the 61st minute to make his first international appearance since 2021.
And his performance likely did enough to convince his manager that he is worthy of some minutes in Germany.

Yokuşlu arrived on the pitch with his side 1-0 down.
Türkiye would go on to level the match in the 77th minute but a last-gasp strike for Poland saw the hosts finish their preparations for the Euros with a victory.
Nonetheless, Yokuşlu likely would have been pleased with his display on a personal level.
As per Sofascore, the 30-year-old completed 100 per cent of his passes, was accurate with 100 per cent of his long balls forward and successful with 100 per cent of his dribbles.
He hardly wasted possession, giving the ball away just once while making 20 touches.
Defensively he was also solid as he won three of his four ground duels and made two tackles.
It was certainly enough to demonstrate that he is ready to chip in at the Euros, and Corberan and West Brom fans will hope to see their midfielder get plenty of minutes with Türkiye.
