Winner named in Leicester City manager battle between Graham Potter and West Brom boss Carlos Corberan
Leicester City are set to appoint Graham Potter as manager after considering West Brom boss Carlos Corberan for the role, according to the Guardian.
The report from the newspaper’s website (19 June) said Corberan and former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper were also in the running. Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse had also revealed on his X account (14 June) that Corberan was a man Leicester were interested in.
But Potter, who has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023, looks to have won the race to replace Enzo Maresca at the King Power Stadium.
Why Graham Potter joining Leicester is good news for West Brom
The news that Corberan is now more than likely to be staying put at The Hawthorns is absolutely fantastic news for everyone involved at the club, not least for supporters who might have been fearing the boss being poached.
Leicester are seemingly set on bringing Potter to the King Power Stadium, leaving Corberan to focus on the task at hand at The Hawthorns this coming campaign and a renewed fight for promotion to the top flight.

The only slight nagging doubt is the fact Corberan has been linked with Las Palmas, but a reported £2.1million termination clause is unlikely to be met by the Spanish club (Marca, 14 June).
The 2024/25 season will mark the first full campaign under the ownership of Shilen Patel and knowing that Corberan will be the man overseeing that is fantastic news.
Hopefully now the club can start pressing on with their transfer plans and bringing in reinforcement to help Corberan put together a team capable of pushing the automatic spots in the Championship after a near miss in the play-offs last term, where ultimately the club fell short against Southampton in the semi-finals.
In other West Brom news, the Albion are set to receive a boost thanks to an increase in season ticket sales this season.
