Ipswich Town want to sign Cedric Kipre amid West Brom contract development – Fabrizio Romano
Ipswich Town are keeping a close eye on West Brom defender Cedric Kipre, according to Fabrizio Romano
The Italian journalist reported via his Instagram story on Thursday (20 June) that Kieran McKenna’s side are one of several clubs interested in Kipre.
Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg as well as some unnamed Bundesliga clubs also have the Ivorian in their sights.
Kipre’s contract at The Hawthorns expires on 30 June and a decision is yet to be made after Albion confirmed (22 May) that he had been offered a new deal by the club.
Will Cedric Kipre extend his stay with West Brom at The Hawthorns?
Almost a month has passed since Kipre was offered a new West Brom contract.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, supporters at The Hawthorns will be beginning to feel slightly apprehensive about their chances of keeping hold of the defender.
Kipre was such a key player last year, demonstrated by the fact that he was named the Supporters’ Player of the Season.
Carlos Corberan will be keen to keep hold of the centre-back and it appears as if the club have done all they can to do that.
However, despite their best efforts, it still might not be enough.
There has been plenty of speculation over Kipre’s future in recent weeks, with Turkish news outlet Sabah reporting (10 June) that Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor are in talks with Kipre.

However, Romano’s report that there is Premier League interest in Kipre likely makes the Baggies keeping hold of the 27-year-old nearly impossible.
In other West Brom news, Kipre has been spotted in an Atletico Madrid kit as the mystery over his future rumbles on.
