West Brom make approach as Josh Windass transfer update emerges
West Brom want to sign Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Josh Windass on a free transfer this summer, according to Birmingham World.
Writing on their website (25 June), the news outlet reports that the Baggies are battling with local rivals Birmingham to sign the 30-year-old winger when his contract expires this week.
West Brom have already made contact with his representatives to gauge his interest, and with other clubs showing an interest in his services, a deal is expected to advance in the next few days.

Grady Diangana has been linked with a move away from the club, while Matty Phillips is set to leave on a free transfer and the loans of Mikey Johnston and Callum Marshall have come to an end.
Daryl Dike’s injury problems mean he’s likely out for the remainder of the year and Josh Maja struggled to make an impact after joining on a free last summer, and Windass would be able to come in and strengthen the options immediately.
Able to play on the wings and through the middle, his versatility is something that Corberan has always been a fan of in his squad and he would fit in well.
There is going to be plenty of competition for his signature so the club will have to move quickly to get it done, but after hitting the playoffs last season they’ll be confident that their trajectory can convince him.
