Blackpool seal Zak Ashworth transfer as West Brom make new announcement
West Brom have announced that Zak Ashworth has completed a permanent transfer to League One outfit Blackpool.
The club confirmed the news on X, admitting that he was a popular player around the training ground during his time at the club.
The 21-year-old left-back spent the last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, making 23 appearances.
Ashworth joined Albion’s ranks at the age of 10 and most notably played an important role in the U21s Premier League Cup-winning campaign in 2022.
West Brom summer business is picking up
West Brom’s summer transfer window is finally picking up, giving fans a glimmer of hope for the upcoming season.
Following a solid fifth-place finish in the Championship and securing a play-off spot last season, the Baggies are now surely determined to push for promotion again.
This is even though early in the window, the Albion’s squad looked depleted with several key players leaving and few signings in sight.
However, the imminent arrival of Norwegian defender Torbjorn Heggem from IF Brommapojkarna and retaining manager Carlos Corberan despite interest from other clubs have lifted spirits.

Corberan’s ability to spot talent and lead effectively, even without major signings last season, bodes well for their campaign.
This means supporters can now slowly start to feel that with these moves, West Brom might just have what it takes to make another strong push for promotion come August.
In other West Brom news, the club are resigned to losing a star man who wants a Premier League move.
