West Brom fans put first at last as Sky Sports make new Championship fixtures vow
West Brom supporters will undoubtedly welcome the latest announcement from Sky Sports regarding televised fixtures, marking a significant shift in how match schedules will impact their matchday plans.
In recent seasons, Baggies fans have voiced frustrations over the late rescheduling of games for TV broadcasts, which often complicated travel arrangements and disrupted matchday routines.
Under a newly announced agreement between Sky Sports and the EFL, valued at a staggering £935 million for multi-year TV rights starting from the 2024-25 season, West Brom will still feature prominently in the broadcast lineup, but fans will get much more notice before matches get rescheduled.
Welcome Sky Sports change for West Brom supporters
The EFL has confirmed that three of Albion’s upcoming fixtures will be televised by Sky Sports between August and the end of September.
The highlight among these will be West Brom’s home clash with Leeds United on Saturday, August 17, now rescheduled to kick off at the earlier time of 12.30pm, exclusively on Sky Sports Football.
Additionally, fans can tune in to watch Carlos Corberan’s side face Portsmouth on Sunday, September 15, with a 3pm kickoff, also broadcast on Sky Sports Football.
Meanwhile, the Baggies’ trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, September 28, scheduled for 12.30pm, will be available to view on Sky Sports+.
Responding to concerns raised by supporters, the EFL and Sky Sports have committed to providing ample notice for televised fixtures, ensuring fans and clubs alike have up to five months’ advance notice of scheduling changes.
Looking ahead, the EFL will announce TV selections for matches from October through to the Emirates FA Cup Third Round in early January before the commencement of the 2024/25 Sky Bet Championship season.

West Bromwich Albion supporters can now anticipate a more streamlined experience when planning to attend or watch their team’s matches, marking a positive step towards prioritising the needs of matchgoing fans in the Championship.
