West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuşlu sends message to Carlos Corberan
Okay Yokuşlu continues to showcase to Carlos Corberan that he is ready for another big season with West Brom.
The midfielder has been flying the flag for the Baggies at the 2024 UEFA European Championship.
He is part of a Türkiye team which continues to defy the odds as they reached the final eight of the competition with a 2-1 victory over Austria on Tuesday (2 July).
Yokuşlu was left on the bench for his nation’s first two matches in Germany but played his part in the final group stage match as well as in the Round of 16 clash.
And Corberan will be delighted to see his midfielder getting some minutes, and more importantly, doing well when he has been handed those minutes.
Okay Yokuşlu ready for the 2024/25 season with West Brom
Yokuşlu was a key performer for the Baggies last season, and will be a key player once again for the club next year should he stick around at The Hawthorns.
And it looks as if he will be returning to the club full of confidence after his contributions at the Euros.
After helping his country secure a 2-1 win off the bench against the Czech Republic (26 June), Yokuşlu once again helped his side claim a huge win against Austria.
As per Sofascore, the 30-year-old completed 75 per cent of his passes on the pitch, while he also won 100 per cent of his ground duels and 100 per cent of his aerial duels.
Having entered play with 12 minutes to go and his side already 2-1 up, it was important that Yokuşlu kept things tidy and helped his side hold on to the victory.
And he did just that defensively, making three clearances and one tackle while only giving possession of the ball away twice.
Yokuşlu will be keen to play a part in the quarter-final, and West Brom supporters will hope to see him in action.
