Okay Yokuslu’s agent speaks out as West Brom exit agreement emerges
Okay Yokuslu’s agent has spoken out regarding the West Brom midfielder’s mooted move to Besiktas.
Yokuslu’s representative, Batur Altiparmak, claimed talks were continuing over a move to his homeland but a deal is yet to be struck.
It was reported on Friday that negotiations between West Brom and Besiktas were at their final stages [Ertan Suzgun, 5 July] for Yokuslu, whose Turkiye side were eliminated from Euro 2024 in the quarter-finals by the Netherlands on Saturday night.
Altiparmak released a brief statement, as published in EnSonHaber. He said: “We are in talks with some teams from the Super League for Okay, but we have not reached an agreement with any team, including Beşiktaş. We are continuing our talks.”
Yokuslu nears West Brom departure
With talks approaching the advanced stages, it looks as if Yokuslu has played his final game in a West Brom shirt.
The 30-year-old will leave The Hawthorns after a total of 100 league games across a permanent spell and an initial loan stint, and returns to compete in Europe having already represented Altay, Kayserispor and Trabzonspor in his home nation.
The 42-cap international is of the age profile when the next contract is absolutely key, and Albion must sell this summer to receive any kind of substantial fee with the player’s contract expiring next year.

Carlos Corberan and his staff have a task on their hands to replace the midfielder, although the positive news is that Alex Mowatt signed an extension to prevent the club from losing him on a free transfer.
The Baggies have shown interest in free agent Oliver Norwood who has been released by Sheffield United [Michael Graham], with competition coming from several Championship clubs including Sunderland.
