West Brom told to complete permanent deal to sign new centre-forward - Legend

Published on

West Brom legend Ally Robertson has called for the club to make a permanent signing of a new centre-forward who is a proven "goalscorer".

Writing for Express and Star on Sunday (7 July), Robertson said that he is pleased with the Baggies' early summer moves but also insisted they need more attacking power for the upcoming season.

He suggested looking at experienced options for a permanent deal or considering a loan deal for a striker ready to contribute immediately.

The 71-year-old said: "We need a goalscorer. We need to bring somebody in up front. For me, that’s the one I’d look at as a priority.

"We have good attacking players I’d like us to keep hold of and it’s hard to judge how our forward line will look until the transfer deadline in September."

West Brom are not currently pursuing strikers but are focused on keeping players

West Brom are currently focused on potential departures rather than pursuing new strikers.

Turkish midfielder Okay Yokuslu is reportedly attracting interest from Besiktas, with talks expected to commence soon regarding a transfer as he enters the final year of his contract [Ertan Suzgun, 5 July].

Yokuslu, a key figure in Albion's midfield, played a crucial role in their 2023-24 season, contributing to their Championship campaign.
