
West Brom Women first summer signing as official Marli Rhodes-Andrews announcement made
West Brom Women have announced Derby County Women’s forward Marli Rhodes-Andrews as their first signing of the summer transfer window.
The Baggies confirmed on 10 July that the 18-year-old forward has joined them having learned her trade by coming through the Ewes’ academy before breaking into Samantha Griffiths’ first team.
Rhodes-Andrews becomes the Baggies’ first signing of the summer transfer window, joining up with Siobhan Hodgetts-Still’s side ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Speaking about the new signing, Hodgetts-Still said: “We’re delighted to have Marli on board for the new season. We were really impressed when she came into training last week – she’s a young, lively, attacking player who wants to learn and improve.
“She had been at Derby for a long time and fancied a new challenge. We’re really looking forward to working with her.”

Fans have every right to be excited about the signing of Rhodes-Andrews, who has impressed for Derby on numerous occasions.
The youngster scored seven goals in 54 senior appearances in black and white, including a hat-trick against Halifax FC and bagging a brace against Doncaster Rovers Belles during a 5-0 National League Plate Second Round victory.
The Ewes’ coach, Griffiths, is extremely talented and has brought many youngsters into the team that continues to fight for promotion, one of whom is Rhodes-Andrews.
She leaves the club with a heavy heart, though has every intention of fighting tooth and nail for the Baggies, which she will be able to prove during the club’s pre-season tour.
The forward, who can play anywhere across the front line will arrive before facing six teams in friendlies, including Sutton Coldfield Town Women, Cheltenham Town Women, Leafield Athletic Ladies, Gwalia United, Oxford United Women and Real Bedford Ladies.
She will certainly be a player to watch as Hodgetts-Still leads the Baggies into the 2024/25 campaign.
