Karlan Grant set for another West Brom loan exit with Carlos Corberan to get rid
West Brom attacker Karlan Grant is not expected to be in Carlos Corberan’s plans for the 2024/25 campaign, according to Lewis Cox.
The Express and Star journalist said in a video published on 12 July that a permanent sale is also not likely this summer.
The 26-year-old potentially has clubs willing to secure his signing on loan after his loan spell at Cardiff City last season.
When asked if Grant is expected to be in the manager’s plans for the upcoming season, Cox said: “In all honesty, no. That’s coming from a bit of information of what we’ve gathered and what we understand.
“I see Grant going out again (on loan).
“I don’t see a sale. Albion still paying Huddersfield the hefty fee he cost four years ago.
“Those kind of financial reasons are why he took the loan to Cardiff last season. The bulk of Karlan Grant’s wages were paid by Cardiff.
“Karlan Grant, decent age, probably has suitors, you would suspect, in terms of clubs willing to take players of his profile on loan this season.
“Even if the market doesn’t quite go Albion’s way and a couple of wide targets don’t quite land for whatever reason, I’m not sure I see Grant as part of the squad. I just can’t see it really.”
West Brom must look to bring in quality attackers this summer
The Baggies must prioritise bringing in quality attackers this summer to enhance their performance and competitiveness in the upcoming season.
The departure of Grant, who is not expected to be part of Corberan’s plans, leaves a gap in the attack that needs to be filled.
This is especially crucial as the team aims to improve upon their fifth-place finish in the Championship last season.
Quality attackers can significantly boost the team’s offensive capabilities, increasing their chances of scoring goals and winning matches.
This is particularly important given the competitive nature of the Championship, where teams often need to outscore their opponents to secure victories.
Furthermore, the addition of new attacking talent can provide a fresh dynamic to the team’s style of play, something Corberan will likely be working on in pre-season.

Moreover, the recruitment of quality attackers can serve as a statement of intent from the club, signalling their ambition to compete at the highest level.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have rejected an offer for the sale of a first-team player as a club have asked for a discount on the agreement in principle.
