West Brom fans gush over Sorba Thomas after £1m transfer update – ‘Announce him’
West Brom fans are urging the club to complete the signing of Sorba Thomas amid speculation linking the Huddersfield forward with a move to The Hawthorns.
Thomas, 25, impressed in Yorkshire last season as he scored four goals and supplied nine assists in 41 Championship appearances. However, he couldn’t stop the Terriers from being relegated to League One and since emerged on the radar of the Baggies.
The Sun on Sunday reported in its print edition on 14 July (page 59) that Albion have approached Huddersfield with an enquiry about the London-born Wales international. However, it is understood that the Black Country side won’t pay the asking price of £1million.
There has been a slight inconsistency with the reporting of how much Huddersfield want for Thomas with Mirror journalist Darren Witcoop reporting on 9 July that a price tag of £850,000 has been set for the player with him expected to move on in the coming weeks.
Will West Brom sign Sorba Thomas from Huddersfield Town?
West Brom’s defence impressed in the Championship last season but Carlos Corberan, who managed Thomas at Huddersfield, struggled to get a tune out of his attack in most games thanks to inconsistent form by his players and continual injury issues.
Thomas seems to be someone who could help fix Corberan’s attack in the upcoming campaign, with one fan saying he hopes the “two-footed” player with “excellent pace” signs.
In other West Brom news, Goodman has named the Albion player who is now worth “a heck of a lot more” than he was when arriving.
