Caleb Taylor contract news as terms agreed at West Brom
West Brom have confirmed that young defender Caleb Taylor has signed a new contract at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies revealed on Tuesday (23 July) that he has signed a deal that will take him through to the summer of 2028.
Taylor spent the second half of last season on loan with Bolton Wanderers, helping them in their push for promotion from League One, which ultimately ended in play-off final heartbreak at Wembley.
West Brom look to their youth
Taylor has been one to keep an eye on for many years now at The Hawthorns. He began his journey with the club back at the under-10s level and eventually worked his way up, appearing in the senior squad in May 2021 before eventually making his debut in August of that year.
Of course, as you’d expect, he’s been given the time and space to grow as a player since then. In addition to his stint with Bolton, he also enjoyed a run with Cheltenham Town, becoming a real fan favourite during his time in the southwest.
We’ve all seen plenty of comings and goings in the Black Country across the last few weeks and more of the same is expected in the lead-up to the new campaign. While he may have only appeared seven times for Bolton last season (FBref), he clearly did enough to convince the likes of Carlos Corberan that he deserves a chance to try and test himself in the first team.
In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan can make a smart summer addition with the signing of Tyrese Campbell.
