West Brom to discuss personal terms with Isaac Price over £1.7m Standard Liege exit

West Brom are set to discuss personal terms with Isaac Price over a £1.7million summer transfer from Standard Liege, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

The journalist reported via X on Wednesday (24 July) that the Baggies and the Belgian club are working on a deal to bring the Northern Irish international to The Hawthorns on a permanent basis.

Price is understood to be keen on joining up with Carlos Corberan’s side this summer and is in talks over a potential five-year contract, despite interest from Albion’s Championship rivals Preston North End

West Brom are leading Ryan Lowe’s side in the race for the 20-year-old’s signature and are now pushing more than North End to try and get a deal over the line.

Will Isaac Price exit Standard Liege amid West Brom transfer speculation?

It hasn’t been a slow start to the transfer window for the Baggies, but it seems as though things are starting to ramp up again at The Hawthorns ahead of the start of the new Championship campaign.

Although Price has played almost the entirety of his senior career in Belgium, he has experience of the English game having come through the ranks at Goodison Park, even making a few Premier League appearances for the Toffees.

As a full Northern Irish international as well, the 20-year-old midfielder has experience well beyond his years and would therefore offer the Baggies an exciting and different dimension from the middle of the park.

With speculation still rife around the future of Okay Yokuslu at The Hawthorns, it is only natural that the Baggies would begin to prepare some succession plans if the Turkish international is to depart in the coming weeks.

Price may not be a like-for-like replacement, but he has the skills to step into the fold and operate alongside the likes of Alex Mowatt and John Swift.

Hopefully, personal terms will be able to be agreed quickly and a deal will get over the line sooner rather than later.

In other West Brom news, a first-team player is not a part of Carlos Corberan’s plans and is likely to seal a loan exit this summer.
