Victor Anichebe reacts to new West Brom signing – ‘so sick’
Victor Anichebe has reacted to the news of West Brom signing Paddy McNair on loan.
The Northern Ireland international penned a three-year contract with MLS side San Diego and will see the reminder of 2024 at The Hawthorns before making the switch to America.
McNair joins San Diego as a free agent after his contract with Middlesbrough came to an end in June.
The American club announced the news via Instagram on Thursday (July 25) with Anichebe quickly taking to the comments and leaving a message, which read: “So sick, what [a] place to live.”
Paddy McNair will be a boost for West Brom
McNair joining the Baggies could be a smart move for the club. Fresh from his contract with Middlesbrough, he brings a wealth of experience. He has played for big names like Manchester United and Sunderland and has been a solid presence in defence.
West Brom can benefit from his versatility. McNair is comfortable in possession and can play multiple roles. This adaptability makes him a valuable asset to the team. His leadership skills, honed as the captain of Northern Ireland, will also boost the locker room morale.

While McNair’s stint at the Hawthorns might be short-term since he’s set to join San Diego FC next year, even a brief period can make a difference.
Having a player of McNair’s calibre, even temporarily, could be a game-changer.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies must save Mikey Johnston from Celtic after a pre-season altercation with Brendan Rodgers.
