Carlos Corberan already has perfect Okay Yokuslu replacement at West Brom
Carlos Corberan may have to begin the 2024/25 campaign without Okay Yokuslu within the West Brom ranks.
The Turkish midfielder has been a key part of the Spaniard’s squad over the last two seasons, having arrived on a permanent deal from Celta Vigo in 2022 and making 89 appearances since.
He even chipped in with the occasional goal, usually quite an important one, but with only 30 per cent shot accuracy last season, Yokuslu only has five to his name at The Hawthorns [FotMob].
Despite forming a formidable partnership with Alex Mowatt in the middle of the park, the Baggies fans may have to come to terms with his departure, with Trabzonspor expected to make another bid [Ertan Suzgun].
Ranking in the top 85 percentile for passing completion, the top 88 percentile for clearances and the top 93 percentile for aerial won, as per FBref, he will not be an easy figure to replace at West Brom.
Carlos Corberan to look to Ousmane Diakite for West Brom replacement
Signing on a two-year deal from TSV Hartberg this summer [WBA], Corberan may already have a Yokuslu replacement right under his nose, softening the blow if the midfielder is to leave.
The 24-year-old made 34 appearances for the Austrian side last season, even notching two goals and only picking up two yellow cards in the middle of the park.
His 80 per cent pass completion and 62 per cent tackle completion display a similar style of play to that of Yokuslu, though Diakite is much younger [FotMob].

While many fans would be upset to see the 30-year-old midfielder leave The Hawthorns this summer, the transfer fees being touted could help Corberan bring in one or two more signings and boost the squad’s quality.
After finishing in the Championship play-off spots last season, losing out to Southampton in the semi-final, West Brom’s will be hoping to take another step towards promotion next term and Diakite could play an important role.
