West Brom fans furious at official announcement – ‘First Thomas-Asante’s going, now this’
West Brom fans aren’t happy with how many games this upcoming season are being moved due to Sky Sports.
Albion announced their schedule for the first half of the 2024/25 Championship season on Tuesday (30 July) after Sky Sports picked what games they wanted to broadcast up until early January.
Some would argue that it’s a positive move because it’s one that’s been done with the fans in mind. It’s given people plenty of notice to make plans and due to the number of games being aired live on television, it should bring in more money for the club.
West Brom fans hit by Sky Sports fixture selection
However, many are arguing that the lack of Saturday 3pm kick-offs shows that the game is slowly being killed off, leaving one fan to even say he didn’t bother buying a season ticket this year because he knew it would be a problem for him.
One called the fixture selections “woeful” with just seven of Albion’s first 26 games being played at 3pm on Saturday, while another said that he’ll only be able to attend four of the home games listed on West Brom’s official website.

Albion kick off their 2024/25 promotion bid with an away trip to QPR on Saturday, 10 August.
Their first game on Sky Sports will also be their first home game, which will be played against Leeds United on 17 August at 12:30pm.
At Christmas, three games will be shown live on Sky Sports in a row: Bristol City (H) on 22 December, Derby County (A) on 26 December and Sheffield United (A) on 29 December.
