Scott Sinclair reacts as West Brom finalise terms for new signing

Scott Sinclair has reacted to the latest signing for West Brom, as Devante Cole posts his first day at The Hawthorns on social media.

Cole shared an image on his Instagram page [31 July] following completion of his switch to Albion from Barnsley, attracting well-wishes from former teammates.

Sinclair and Cole crossed paths at Manchester City, through whose youth system the striker graduated.

The former Baggies winger commented on the new striker’s post with two ‘fire’ emojis and a ‘fist’ emoji in support.

West Brom capture Cole to replace Thomas-Asante

West Brom have managed to be proactive in their recruitment of Cole, as a direct replacement for Brandon Thomas-Asante, top scorer from last season for Carlos Corberan’s men.

Thomas-Asante will join Coventry City in a £2.5m deal, with the 29-year-old set to slot straight in as he steps up from League One.

Plenty more incomings are needed for Corberan following the news that Thomas-Asante will be joined on the sales list by Ipswich Town-bound Conor Townsend, and Okay Yokuslu who has completed a return to Turkiye with Trabzonspor.

This will be Cole’s first proper Championship challenge, having been on the books at Wigan Athletic in the second tier but spent much of his time out on loan, playing the majority of his football in the third tier as well as in Scotland.

Whilst unproven at the level so far, the forward will be keen to earn a consistent place spearheading the Albion attack this season.
