West Brom complete Devante Cole transfer after Barnsley release
West Brom have signed striker Devante Cole on a two-year contract after his release from Barnsley.
The Baggies announced the news via their official website on Wednesday (31 July), adding that they are “delighted” to secure the services of the Manchester City academy graduate.
The 29-year-old, who scored 18 goals last season, joins the Baggies with hopes of making an impact in the Championship.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Cole told his new club’s official website: “I’m really excited to be back in the Championship. It was one of my goals to get back to this division as quickly as possible.
“I’m coming here to Albion off the back of a good season at Barnsley. I’ll bring a lot of hard work to the team and I hope to be a real threat.”
West Brom secure a good player in Devante Cole
West Brom have made a smart move by signing Devante Cole. After scoring 18 goals for Barnsley last season, Cole is sure to bring a lot of talent and energy to The Hawthorns.
On top of that, at 29, he’s experienced and ready to make an immediate impact in the Championship.
With Brandon Thomas-Asante leaving for Coventry City [Pete O’Rourke, 31 July], Cole’s scoring ability will be a big boost for the Baggies.
His strong performances at Barnsley show he’s more than capable of finding the back of the net, even if some supporters will be underwhelmed.
Cole also said himself that he is excited to return to the Championship and is eager to start working hard for his new team.

His goalscoring skills and that positive attitude could be just what Carlos Corberan needs to push for promotion this coming season. Overall, this signing seems like a great choice for the club.
