Jude Bellingham sends one-word message as ex-West Brom captain retires
Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham has sent a message to former West Brom captain Curtis Davies following his retirement from football.
As confirmed by the man himself on Instagram on 1 August, the 39-year-old Davies has decided to walk away from the beautiful game.
His post lead to a bunch of replies from those who played with him with the Baggies and the other clubs he represented in his long career.
In response to the post, ex-Birmingham midfielder Bellingham sent a one-word message to his friend. He simply said: “Legend.”
Former West Brom star rides off into the sunset
Over the course of his illustrious career, Davies spent a lot of time in the Midlands. He played for the likes of Aston Villa, Leicester, Birmingham and Derby before his final stint at Cheltenham. Of course, the one that really put him on the map was a three-run year with West Brom.

The veteran has seen some of his peers retire from the sport in the past. Now, though, it’s time for him to get his flowers. He made more than 70 appearances for the Baggies and even featured in the PFA Championship Team of the Year way back in 2006/07.
For someone like Bellingham to be praising him says a lot about what he’s brought to the sport. He became a capped international player with Sierra Leonne. He remained relevant in the EFL right up until his final game. In essence, he served his purpose as a true leader at the back.
Who knows, maybe a full-time stint in punditry is next.
