West Brom seal new transfer with intensity and demands claim made
Joe Wildsmith is unlikely to take time to adapt to the Championship after joining West Brom, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while there is a slight jump in the physical demands from League One, the main difference will be the mental intensity and demands that are placed on him.
The Baggies secured the signing of the 28-year-old on a two-year contract in this transfer window.
Issuing a reaction on the transfer, injury expert Dr Brar – who is a physical therapy specialist and sports scientist – has told West Brom News:
“The good news with a goalkeeper is that the physical demands aren’t that big of a jump from League One to Championship but there is certainly a difference in the mental intensity and demands.
“That will come through preparation and adaptation.
“He will also join the goalkeeping group right away and that’s only going to benefit him.“
Joe Wildsmith is a shrewd addition for West Brom
The Baggies signed the 28-year-old to strengthen their goalkeeping department.
He had an impressive season with Derby County, helping them win promotion from League One with 20 clean sheets, earning him the Golden Glove award.
Alex Palmer was an ever-present last season and with Josh Griffiths joining Bristol Rovers on loan, Wildsmith provides a reliable backup.

His experience and proven abilities make him a valuable addition to the team and he’d push Palmer to get even better.
