West Brom on course to breach PSR rules in new bombshell update

West Brom have been placed under an EFL-imposed business plan, according to Rob Dorsett.

The Sky Sports journalist reported the news with the Baggies currently on course to breach PSR rules at The Hawthorns, with transfers and wage costs needing to be agreed with the EFL.

West Brom have been working closely with the EFL for longer than a year now due to the problems of previous ownership, with no current risk of the club missing bills.

West Brom set to break PSR regulations

This is not exactly surprising news, but it is somewhat calming to see that the club and the EFL have been working closely together.

With Patel now in charge, it is all about righting the wrongs left behind by Guochuan Lai and his team in the years before at The Hawthorns.

Paying the bills and making sure that money is being made to lower the threat is crucial, with a summer of change likely to continue.

The likes of Conor Townsend, Cedric Kipre, Okay Yokuslu and Brandon Thomas-Asante have already left the club with not much money being spent the other way.

Carlos Corberan is going to have to work some miracles to succeed next season, but if anyone can do it, it is the Spaniard, who has proven it time and time again.

Hopefully, going into this EFL business plan can make sure that any possible punishment for potentially breaching PSR rules will be very minimal.

In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan must make a decision on Caleb Taylor following a recent contract update at The Hawthorns.
