Jed Wallace among West Brom trio who could leave before transfer window shuts

Jayson Molumby, Jed Wallace and John Swift could all “be on their way” out of West Brom before the transfer deadline, according to Chris Lepkowski.

Carlos Corberan has already seen several members of his first team squad sold in the opening weeks of the window and further departures are expected with Molumby being linked with a move to Millwall [The Mirror, 4 August].

Although it remains to be seen just how many more sales could be sanctioned before the deadline at the end of August, former Baggies head of media Lepkowski thinks the first team will be the subject of major upheaval.

Speaking on The Liquidator podcast on Sunday (4 August, 27:50), Lepkowski said: “You mention Molumby there, you mentioned Wallace and Swift.

“These are all players who could reasonably be on their way before the end of the window. I think [Grady] Diangana, he’s injured and that’s a real problem for us because we could have done with him being fit.”

Jed Wallace exit a realistic possibility at West Brom

Corberan has already seen his first-team squad ravaged this summer with Brandon Thomas-Asante, Okay Yokuslu, Cedric Kipre and Conor Townsend exiting The Hawthorns, and it seems as though that could only be the start of it.

It seems impossible that the Baggies will be able to sanction these sorts of sales and expect to mount a genuine playoff push this term as the current squad available would be fortunate to finish midtable.

If three more major exits are allowed, Albion seriously have to find a way to step up their recruitment while still complying with the rules of the EFL-imposed business plan reportedly placed on them by the EFL [Rob Dorsett, 3 August].

It won’t be easy, but unless some further additions are made, West Brom risk angering both their supporters and their manager and then they will be running the risk of him walking away from the project at The Hawthorns.

Hopefully, all three of the players mentioned by Lepkowski won’t depart before the window slams shut at the end of August.

In other West Brom news, Corberan is believed to be unhappy at The Hawthorns after the Baggies missed out on a transfer target.
