Stan Collymore takes X-rated swipe at West Brom amid UK riots
West Brom were the subject of an explicit response from Stan Collymore after a Baggies fan referenced ‘two-tier policing’.
After Collymore posted a video on X (5 August) of a graveyard in Burnley which had been allegedly vandalised with paint in a recent protest-turned-riot, an Albion fan replied distastefully with “two-tier tweeting…”
This was a clear reference to so-called two-tier policing, which is a term used to describe certain protests not being dealt with as aggressively as others by the police force.
Collymore saw that the user supported the Baggies and referenced West Brom’s current second-tier status, saying: “Albion fan? You’d f*****g know all about tier two.”
West Brom will hope to prove Stan Collymore wrong this season
Last season saw Carlos Corberan’s Baggies side go their closest yet to promotion since relegation from the Premier League in 2021.
A fifth-placed finish gives Albion fans plenty of signs for optimism with the new campaign just days away, but that optimism may have been dampened somewhat by their sporadic summer business [Express and Star, 5 August].

Having been no match for eventually-promoted Southampton in their two-legged play-off semi-final, Corberan’s side will still have taken plenty of positives from their experiences last season.
Although only five new signings have been brought through the doors – with one of those a loanee in Paddy McNair – fees brought in by outgoing stars could give the Albion the chance to strengthen.
Further signings will soon follow with 24 days of the transfer window left, and despite the financial restrictions imposed on the club [Rob Dorsett, 3 August], Corberan will feel his side have what it takes to go one better than last season, and reach the Premier League one again.
In other West Brom news, the fee that Coventry City have paid the Baggies to sign Brandon Thomas-Asante has been revealed.
