Lewis Dobbin update emerges for West Brom v QPR after Hawthorns transfer
Lewis Dobbin is expected to be on the bench as West Brom take on QPR on 10 August at Loftus Road, according to DOOD.
The Baggies insider claimed on 7 August that the 21-year-old who joined on a season long-loan from Aston Villa is unlikely to be making his full debut in the first game of the Championship season.
Carlos Corberan was looking for firepower upfront and brought the former Everton forward to Hawthorns this summer.
DOOD wrote on X: “Lewis Dobbin is going to be like that Harvey Barnes Signing.
“Hearing good things from training. Quick Direct fast feet whipping great crosses into box. Scoring all sorts of goals.
“Get ready to be excited baggies fans! Expected to be on the bench against QPR.”
Lewis Dobbin undoubtedly makes West Brom a stronger side
His versatility as a forward will add depth to the Baggies’ attacking options.
Dobbin can play as a winger or a striker, providing Corberan with tactical flexibility.
The 21-year-old’s pace and directness will be a valuable asset for West Brom as they look to return to the Premier League.
His ability to take on defenders and deliver crosses into the box will create scoring opportunities for his teammates.
With Brandon Thomas-Asante leaving, it was important for the club to sign a quality replacement and they’ve arguably upgraded by bringing in Dobbin.
Only time will tell just how vital this signing is, but early signs suggest he’s made a positive impact in training already.
In other West Brom news, a major development has emerged as the Baggies eye a free transfer of an ex-Manchester United player ahead of the 30 August deadline.
