Oliver Norwood claim emerges as West Brom eye free transfer of ex-Manchester United player
West Brom target and former Manchester United youth player Oliver Norwood is likely to adapt well to the Championship, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that despite the former Sheffield United midfielder’s age (33), the Northern Ireland international’s appearances last season in the Premier League, suggest he’s still got what it takes.
This comes after SAFC National editor Michael Graham reported on 3 July that the Baggies are looking to sign Norwood on a free transfer.
Issuing a reaction on the transfer, injury expert Dr Brar – who is a physical therapy specialist and sports scientist – has told West Brom News:
“As an older player, he will have cumulative wear and tear on the body and West Brom will want to see if there’s anything outside the norm.
“On the positive side, as an older player, he will understand what it takes to succeed at the top level and the consistent habits it takes.
“He played 27 Premier League games last season so that’s a green flag and his suitability for the Championship is unlikely to be questioned a great deal.“
West Brom must consider signing Oliver Norwood
Norwood could be a valuable addition to the Baggies’ squad, especially on a free transfer.
The 33-year-old’s experience and leadership qualities are key attributes that could benefit the team.
As a midfielder, his ability to control the tempo of the game, distribute the ball effectively, and dictate play from deep positions are crucial in both defensive and attacking phases.

His set-piece prowess could also provide Carlos Corberan’s side with an additional threat from corners and free-kicks.
