Ross Barkley sends three-word message as West Brom finalise transfer
Ross Barkley has sent a three-word message after West Brom finalised the transfer of Lewis Dobbin.
The Baggies confirmed the signing of the 21-year-old on a season-long loan from Aston Villa via the club’s official website on Monday (6 August).
Dobbin posted to his official Instagram after the transfer was confirmed (6 August), alongside the caption, “Excited to be here for the season! Let’s work”.
And among the comments was Dobbin’s Villa teammate Barkley, who wrote “Good luck lad”.
West Brom sign Lewis Dobbin on a season-long loan from Aston Villa
Dobbin is an exciting option for Carlos Corberan to have among his ranks ahead of next season.
The young forward has Premier League experience, with 15 appearances under his belt, and spent last season on loan with Derby County.
Having just joined Aston Villa from Everton, Dobbin will therefore be keen to demonstrate to Unai Emery what he is about.
As a result, he will be motivated to perform well at The Hawthorns, and a seal of approval from Barkley is definitely not a bad thing to have.
The Baggies came so close to clinching promotion to the Premier League last season and Corberan will be keen for his side to bounce back from play-off heartbreak and go again.
Having a player such as Dobbin at the club will therefore help them to do that.

The forward’s versatile nature could prove useful along the front line and offer Corberan cover for plenty of positions in case of injuries or suspensions across the season.
