West Brom can solve PSR issues with Tom Fellows sale as Crystal Palace development emerges
West Brom may have to sacrifice one of Carlos Corberan’s most exciting stars to avoid punishments for Profit and Sustainability Rules breaches.
The Baggies are currently under very heavy financial pressure to not breach the EFL’s PSR laws [The Telegraph], with Chris Lepkowski revealing that the next set of accounts for last season are set to include losses as much as £26million.
Even despite the exits of Okay Yokuslu, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Conor Townsend, the Baggies will still be concerned by the loss limit of £39million over three seasons.
Shilen Patel looks to have inherited quite the predicament, with West Brom potentially set to lose as much as £34million over two seasons with another season still left to add to the figure.
With this in mind, there is a very simple fix, but it comes at a huge cost – hope Crystal Palace act on their interest, allowing the Baggies to cash in on 21-year-old Tom Fellows.
Could Tom Fellows be sold by West Brom to ease PSR concerns?
According to ex-Birmingham Mail journalist Lepkowski [4 August], Crystal Palace watched the 21-year-old winger on several occasions last season and believes there is a potential concern he could be sold.
Of course, fans will be desperate for all their best players to remain at The Hawthorns this summer, especially after already losing Yokuslu, Thomas-Asante and Townsend.
With all three at the end of their contracts, some fans will appreciate the savvy business decision to sell all three now instead of losing them for free next summer, but the funds raised have been far from ideal.

Fellows, on the other hand, has the potential to be a star for Corberan’s side over the next few seasons, and even earn a big-money move away, but that could all come too late for the club.
Clubs, such as the Eagles, will be aware of the Baggies’ current issues, so any transfer offer would likely be far below his real valuation. But if the sale can help keep West Brom afloat, would there actually be a decision to make?
