Jed Wallace mocks Sky Sports commentator after West Brom win v QPR

Jed Wallace has taken to social media to mock Sky Sports commentator Dominic Johnson after West Brom defeated QPR 3-1 at Loftus Road on Saturday (10 August).

The Baggies came from behind to secure three points in their opening match of the 2024/25 Championship campaign.

Lucas Andersen gave the hosts an early lead before a hattrick from Josh Maja blew the Hoops away. Johnson, who was on commentary alongside Adam Virgo for Sky Sports Plus’ coverage of the match, continually referred to Maja as ‘Major’.

And Wallace took to his official X account (10 August) to poke fun at the commentator, tweeting “Josh Major” alongside three emojis.

Josh Maja on fire for West Brom v QPR

Carlos Corberan’s side got off to the best possible start with their victory over QPR. As a result, supporters will be in high spirits this weekend.

After play-off heartbreak last season, the Baggies will be keen to make another promotion push at The Hawthorns throughout the current campaign.

And if Maja can continue to bang in the goals just as he did at Loftus Road, then the 25-year-old could fire his side back to the Premier League.

He only managed 12 appearances in the Championship last season, scoring just once. Therefore, keeping the Nigerian fit will be key for Corberan.

Wallace’s tweet demonstrated just how happy he was for his teammate, and showcased to supporters that spirits are high among the camp.

And as long as he keeps finding the back of the net, the striker likely won’t be bothered one bit about what commentators call him, just so long as they continue to sing his praises.
