West Brom predicted XI v Fleetwood – Five new signings get first start, Josh Maja rested
Carlos Corberan could opt to rest some key players for West Brom for their first round Carabao Cup clash against Fleetwood Town.
The Baggies travel to Highbury on 13 August looking to confirm a place in the second round of the cup competition after missing out last campaign.
This clash will come just three days after securing a 3-1 opening-day win against QPR thanks to a Josh Maja hat-trick.
With that being said, Corberan may look to make plenty of changes to keep legs fresh with some new signings set to be handed their first starts.
One of those could be Joe Wildsmith who joined on a free transfer earlier in the summer. Giving Alex Palmer a rest could prove to be beneficial moving forward.
Torbjoern Heggem had a competitive debut to remember against the R’s but he could also be rested in order to give Gianluca Frabotta his first start.
There is a lack of centre-back options for Corberan to pick from with Paddy McNair out with a knee injury. This could see the manager stick with Semi Ajayi and partner him with 21-year-old, Caleb Taylor.
Due to a lack of options at right back, it seems likely that Darnell Furlong will keep his place in the starting XI.
Lewis Dobbin gets first West Brom start
Dobbin joined the Baggies from Aston Villa on loan and looked positive in preseason and now looks set to be handed his first start.
On the opposite flank, Karlan Grant could be in line to keep his place after a superb performance upon his return from his Cardiff City loan.
Ousmane Diakite looks set to come in for his first start since signing from Hartberg to be joined by Alex Mowatt and John Swift who could maintain their starting XI spots in the midfield.
Last time out, Maja registered a hat-trick but given his recent issues with injury, resting him could make sense with a clash against Leeds United less than a week away.

In his place could be yet another first start with Devante Cole set to come in from the start after making a 14-minute cameo at Loftus Road.
In other West Brom news, an “important” exit has been allowed this summer despite Corberan being a huge fan.
