West Brom eye Daniel Jebbison loan transfer as Bournemouth exit update emerges

West Brom are interested in signing Bournemouth striker Daniel Jebbison on loan ahead of the August transfer deadline, according to James Savundra.

The Sky Sports journalist reported via X on Monday (12 August) that Carlos Coberan’s side are one of the number of Championship clubs competing to secure the attacker on a temporary basis this summer.

Sunderland are known to be considering a move for the 21-year-old as they look to sign a new forward to bolster Regis Le Bris’ ranks before the transfer window slams shut at the end of August.

Jebbison will reportedly exit Bournemouth on loan before the end of the month, despite only joining permanently in July, but the Black Cats are yet to make an approach for his signature [Keith Downie, 12 August].

Will Daniel Jebbison exit Bournemouth amid West Brom loan rumours?

While Josh Maja showed that he can lead the West Brom attack effectively with his opening-day display against QPR, Corberan has made no secret of his desire to bolster his options before the transfer window slams shut.

With Daryl Dike still sidelined, the Baggies’ boss only has Maja and summer signing Devante Cole to call upon at the top end of the pitch following Brandon Thomas-Asante’s move to Coventry City.

While both players have been effective throughout their careers, their goals alone are unlikely to be enough to fire Albion up the Championship table and into another playoff race this season.

Jebbison is fairly untested having been little more than a rotation option at Sheffield United before his move to Bournemouth, but he has shown plenty of promise and raw pace on the rare occasions he has been handed an opportunity.

If he were to make the move to The Hawthorns, he would add a different and exciting option to Corberan’s attack that simply cannot be undervalued with the end of the window now edging closer.

It will be interesting to see if Albion have what it takes to beat their league rivals to his signature in the coming weeks.
