Grady Diangana injury update emerges ahead of West Brom vs Leeds United

West Brom forward Grady Diangana is back in full training and could feature this weekend against Leeds United, according to DOOD.

The Albion news source posted on X [15 August] with the claim that a late call will be made on Diangana’s fitness ahead of the first match at The Hawthorns on Saturday (17 August).

The 26-year-old missed the Baggies’ pre-season matches after sustaining a calf injury, and Carlos Corberan is hoping to add to his firepower after starting the Championship campaign on a winning note at QPR.

“Grady back in full training,” DOOD shared.

“Late call tomorrow to see if he’s included in the squad. Big boost for Baggies.”

West Brom in real boost as Diangana nears return

When Diangana first picked up the calf injury, West Brom were hoping the respite would be that it has come before the season would start, and that the winger would be ready for 2024-25.

As it has turned out, his recovery has been a little slower but Albion will be hoping now that he is on the verge of a return.

Diangana’s injury, from a club perspective, may even seem a bit of a blessing in disguise with the fitness recuperation potentially blurring interested clubs out of a move for the player, whose contract expires next summer and must be addressed.

Potential suitors would likely have averted their interest to fully fit players, and it could be that Diangana’s return arrives just at the crucial moment for West Brom and for Corberan.

With 15 goal contributions in the Championship as Diangana led the way for assists in the squad, Corberan will be desperate to integrate him back into the line-up as soon as possible.
