Carlos Corberan shares new West Brom transfer admission
Carlos Corberan says it is a “need” not a “want” situation for West Brom in the remainder of the transfer window.
At the start of the month, Corberan made it clear that he wanted five or six more players before the window shut (5 August).
The Baggies have since seen a few more names come in including Juventus defender Gianluca Frabotta (Gianluca Di Marzio, 6 August).
But with the likes of Brandon Thomas-Asante, Okay Yokuslu and Conor Townsend all having been sold, Baggies boss Corberan wants to bring more players to the club.
During his pre-match press conference ahead of the Leeds game (Birmingham Live, 15 August) Corberan said: “It is not that I ‘want’, it is that we have to.
“We have the need of three or four options. If you know the players that we have lost, it gives you a possibility in terms of the needs that we have to cover.”
Carlos Corberan shows West Brom desire
Following on from their 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers, there’s optimism in the air for West Brom. In equal measure, though, a 2-1 loss at the hands of Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup served as a reminder of how lacking in depth the squad is. It’s an issue that needs rectifying, and it’s great to see Corberan working so hard to make that happen.

In the Championship, you have to be willing to endure a real marathon campaign. The Baggies punched above their weight in many ways last season but this time around, they’ll want to be better prepared. When your manager has this kind of attitude, it builds confidence in the fanbase.
Next up, they take on a Leeds United side who are in a pretty similar position. However, unlike the boys from the Black Country, they’re widely considered to be the favourites for the title. This team has very little to lose in a game like this and with more transfers seemingly on the way, things are looking up.
