West Brom transfer announcement imminent as player shown around training ground
Uros Racic has arrived in England ahead of a move to West Brom from Sassuolo, according to westbrom.fc.
Writing on their X account [20 August], the Baggies news outlet reported that the Serbian midfielder was shown around the facilities on Monday (19 August) with an official announcement now imminent.
The 26-year-old will join the Baggies as a replacement for Okay Yokuslu, who completed a move to Trabzonspor last month.
West Brom set to sign Uros Racic
Albion have pulled off a massive coup with the signing of Racic to bolster their midfield options.
He is well-travelled, having spent time at Red Star Belgrade, Valencia and Braga before landing in Serie A with Sassuolo.
A perfect blend of top-flight European experience and physicality at 6ft 3in, Racic has all the tools to become an immediate success for West Brom in the Championship.
The Baggies have to move smart in the transfer market this summer as their financial constraints have dictated their business, but Carlos Corberan has seen some real quality added to the centre of the pitch in Racic.
West Brom have started the season strong, barring a Carabao Cup first-round exit at the hands of Fleetwood Town, as they have defeated QPR 3-1 and earned a hard-fought 0-0 against Leeds United in the Championship.
Corberan’s side will be expected to go from strength to strength in the league, and Racic, a fully-fledged Serbian international who can play either in the number six or number eight positions, will go a long way in ensuring the side push for Premier League promotion this season.
In other West Brom news, Shilen Patel was delighted for one player’s start to the campaign after major hardship.
