Wolves may boost West Brom finances as Sky Sports update emerges

Wolves may hand West Brom a financial boost if they sign Dara O’Shea from Burnley.

Sky Sports reported on 22 August that Gary O’Neil’s side remains in talks with the Clarets over the signing of the 25-year-old.

DOOD on X has suggested (19 August) that the Baggies will receive 20 per cent of any profit made from a potential deal.

Given that Burnley could be in for £15million from Wolves or Brentford [David Anderson], Albion could receive around £1.6m for the Ireland international.

West Brom to receive financial boost from Wolves Dara O’Shea deal

It is somewhat of a slap in the face to West Brom to seem so far removed from their biggest rivals after being ahead of them for years.

With that being said, the majority of supporters won’t care as long as the club gets out of the financial mess they appear to be in right now.

After being sold a year ago, the Irishman has dealt with a difficult season in the Premier League and is now back in the Championship but may not stick around for very long.

O’Shea was a good servant to the Baggies and it will cement the positive feeling around him at the Hawthorns if he brings in another fee.

This could hand Carlos Corberan a boost in terms of transfer market activity after bringing in Uros Rasic.

With the club struggling financially and consistently being in conversation with the EFL, bringing in a surprise £1.6m will be hugely beneficial.
