West Brom are set to sign Callum Styles

Carlos Corberan has accelerated his transfer business in the last few days by strengthening his midfield options.

Racic completed his move to the Hawthorns on Thursday 22 August [westbrom.fc], in time to be registered for the Championship tie against Stoke City on Saturday [24 August]. The Serbian is set to be joined by Styles to compete with Alex Mowatt and Jayson Molumby in the middle of the park.

The 24-year-old is somewhat of a veteran in the English Football League with spells at Bury, Milwall, Sunderland, and Barnsley and has played at every left of the professional football pyramid.

Carlos Corberan has been praised for the job he’s done at West Brom

Corberan has targeted the midfielder all summer, his versatility across several positions being a desirable trait behind the move but, unlike Racic, Styles will not immediately challenge for a place in the first team once his arrival is confirmed.

The Hungarian will be a capable squad option, offering much-needed depth to a West Brom side with promotion aspirations this season.

It is not the most glamorous signing but a welcome one as Corberan puts together the final pieces of the puzzle, to ensure a successful 2024/25 Championship campaign for the Baggies.
