Shilen Patel could feel wrath of West Brom amid Tom Fellows latest
West Brom selling winger Tom Fellows before the transfer deadline would undo all of the good work done by Shilen Patel this summer.
Three Premier League clubs have shown interest in the Albion flyer [TEAMtalk, 29 August], who is reportedly valued at £15million by the club after two man-of-the-match performances so far this season.
Fellows, 21, has already been the subject of a £10m offer from Southampton which was rejected by the Baggies [John Percy, 27 August], but that’s unlikely to prevent Saints, Everton or Ipswich from returning with improved bids.
Should the Albion hierarchy accept a fee below £20m for a player fast becoming their crown jewel, though, Baggies fans may turn on Shilen Patel despite the club hierarchy making big strides this summer.
Tom Fellows West Brom exit an unthinkable end to transfer window
The sight of Fellows racing down the right-hand side and Mikey Johnston doing likewise on the left was commonplace at The Hawthorns last season as the two wingers almost fired Albion to promotion.
Johnston’s impending return to the club on a £3m deal from Celtic gives Carlos Corberan the potential to maximise the threat of both wingers, but that won’t be the case if Fellows is sold before the deadline.
Patel has received universal praise in the wake of the news of Johnston’s permanent signing, but that will all be undone if one of the brightest Albion youth products in many a year makes way simultaneously.

Fellows is seen as the future of the club, and although Patel and the fans alike are aware of their precarious financial and PSR situation, selling Fellows at this late stage would be a bitter pill to swallow.
Corberan’s overhaul of his squad this summer has Baggies fans dreaming of a promotion push which can go one better, but few will see that dream coming too without Fellows’ dynamic brilliance on the flanks.
In other West Brom news, another Championship side have made a seven-figure transfer bid for one of Carlos Corberan’s key players.
