West Brom are one of several clubs interested in signing Neal Maupay before Friday’s transfer deadline, according to DOOD.
The Albion news source posted on X [28 August] that Carlos Corberan’s side – along with six other unnamed clubs – are tracking Maupay, who is expected to leave Everton this week.

West Brom interested in Neal Maupay
If Maupay were to be captured by a Championship club – likely on loan unless a contract termination were to be agreed at Goodison Park – there is no denying it would be a coup.
The 28-year-old Frenchman, who incurred the wrath of a section of Toffees fans [The Times, 25 August] at Euston station after their 4-0 defeat by Tottenham last weekend, scored 41 across two Championship seasons for Brentford earlier in his career.
West Brom are setting themselves up for an interesting end to the transfer window, with a fee agreed for Mikey Johnston on a permanent deal from Celtic – although Burnley are in the same position for the Irishman [Lewis Cox, 28 August].
Shilen Patel and Corberan have been left frustrated by being unable to spend too much due to an EFL-imposed business plan following on from a past regime.
The Baggies have made a profit on player sales over the course of the summer, but could bow out of the window with a bang.
