Grady Diangana sends four-word message after West Brom permanent exit announcement
West Brom winger Grady Diangana sent a message of support to Modou Faal after the striker completed a permanent transfer to Wrexham.
Faal posted a farewell message on Instagram (31 August) after the Baggies confirmed his departure to the League One side, which thanked the Black Country club for his treatment since arriving at The Hawthorns aged 16.
Wrexham beat Barnsley to the 21-year-old striker’s signature on a permanent deal rather than a loan [DOOD, 29 August], which Albion were happy to sanction despite Faal’s goal in their EFL Cup tie against Fleetwood Town.
Commenting below Faal’s post, Albion first-team regular Diangana left a message which read: “All the best brother.”
Mo Faal transfer could come back to bite West Brom this season
The Baggies made no secret that in the final embers of the 2024 summer transfer window, they were in the hunt for a striker to finalise Carlos Corberan’s squad for the new Championship season.
However, despite making a headline signing in the form of Mikey Johnston from Celtic, no new striker arrived at The Hawthorns in addition to their former loanee.

Mason Holgate did so on loan from Everton, but the Baggies were beaten to the likes of Tom Cannon, who instead joined fellow Midlands side Stoke City on another season-long deal from Leicester City [John Percy, 30 August].
Therefore, Devante Cole, who teed up Faal’s close-range effort against Fleetwood last month, remains the only out-and-out number nine signed by the club this summer, with two heading the other way.
Josh Maja’s strong start to the season has assuaged Albion’s striker issues for now, but with Faal allowed to leave late in the window without a replacement, Corberan could soon be starved of options again.
In other West Brom news, Jayson Molumby had a mixed afternoon at the Hawthorns in Albion’s match against Swansea City.
